Want Beachy Hair All Year Round?

Sea Mist Hair Spray is formulated with the same salinity as Pacific Ocean saltwater, which is great for adding beachy texture and waves to hair naturally. The essential oils of lavender and sage give off a calming aroma.

Tips for Use:

For Hair: Spray on any time to add waves and texture to your hair. Will give your hair a beachy texture like swimming in the ocean's natural saltwater.

For Body: Spritz on any time your skin needs refreshing or just spray into the air in the room around you to liven and freshen things up. Contains aloe water to hydrate your skin. Safe to use on face. Saltwater is great for skin too — cleansing and detoxifying, and also helps it to maintain moisture.

Aloe Vera: There are certain benefits of Aloe Vera that produce healthy hair. The gel obtained from a freshly-cut plant has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that can be enjoyed when the gel is applied on the hair and scalp. It helps to clear itching, dry scalps, and brittle hair.

Lavender Essential Oil: The health benefits of lavender oil for the skin can be attributed to its antiseptic and anti-fungal properties. It is used to treat various skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. It is commonly used to speed up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns because it improves the formation of scar tissues. Lavender oil is also added to Chamomile to treat eczema.

What’s in your Makeup?!

Have you ever read the ingredients on your makeup labels? Did you read unpronounceable words like, Triclosan, Ethylene Oxide or Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons? These words don’t just look scary, they are scary! Scary to rub into your cheeks, lather onto your scalp and scrub into your skin. These words sound anything but natural, and it’s because they aren’t! For example, triclosan, is a chemical that is used in antibacterial soaps, deodorants and toothpastes that is used to limit the growth of bacteria and mold. Which sounds like a good thing, right? However, triclosan is classified as a pesticide. Pesticides are chemicals that can affect the body’s hormone systems. Yet everyday millions of America’s put this pesticide chemical into their mouth, eyes and rub it onto their skin. This certainly isn’t the only harmful chemical we use.

Many popular cosmetics and cosmetic brands used triclosan, most toothpastes and most of Bath and Bodyworks products, for example. If that doesn’t shake your cosmetic confidence, than this next tidbit might. If you have never heard of PAH’s, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, listen up! PAH’s are a group of chemicals that occur naturally in coal, crude oil and gasoline. But what does this have to do with cosmetic products? A lot, actually! PAH’s are found in many popular makeup and shampoo’s.  There are some long-term health effects of exposure to PAHs which may include cataracts, kidney and liver damage, and jaundice. Repeated skin contact to the PAH naphthalene can result in redness and inflammation of the skin. Long-term exposure to low levels of some PAHs have caused cancer in laboratory animals. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, you can take additional steps to lower exposure by decreasing the use of coal-tar-based cosmetics and shampoos.

What is the lesson here?

1. Read the ingredients labels on your makeup and skincare products. If the word sounds unnatural, it probably is!

2. Convert to all natural, chemical free beauty products. Your skin will be less irritated and overall healthier. Find out more at Mission B

3. Educate your friends and family members on what harmful cancer causing chemicals could be in their makeup.
